Making decisions about whether to recruit from within or outside the organisation will impact on the recruitment methods selected and the relative costs and benefits of each option. To a large extent, the nature of the position to be filled will dictate this choice. In all dimensions of the process however, the considerations of EEO and legal requirements generally will be paramount and will affect the eventual outcome-both for the successful and unsuccessful applicants as well as the organisation.
