These manual hair clippers came from the Hairdressing section at Sydney Institute, Ultimo and became part of the SI Heritage collection in 2005. The clipper with blade no. 1 is designed to cut hair about 1/8 of an inch long. The second clipper is fitted with a size no. 0 blade and will cut hair to about 1/32 of an inch long. In general, manual clippers have been replaced by electric clippers in salons. Turnleys (Aust.) Pty. Ltd. is a distributor of hairdressing products and equipment with stores in Melbourne and Sydney.
