Christine here. You have decided you must interview the candidates. Can you remember interviews you have been to? Do you think they got the right information from you? What questions can you remember? Interviews can be tough on both the candidate and the applicant. Let’s see if we can make it a bit easier in this section.

You will need to know the selection criteria and be prepared with questions that draw the information from the candidate. You might even decide to use some other mechanisms such as selection testing.  Whichever methods you choose they should reflect the needs of the position and the organisation. After you have spent a day interviewing you will need to review the applicants you have had and compare them. How will you do this?

Whichever tools you use to assist you, remember to reflect on their usefulness to the process so you can streamline it for next time.
